I have just installed a FX5500 video card and flight simulator will not recognize it. When I tried to start flight sim it said that software3d has been enabled and that some graphics fearures will be diabled. I cannot select my card in the settings. It just dosent work no harware acceleration. It wont even let me change terrain detail to anything other than none. Is there any way to make flight sim recognize my card?

Goto nvidia.com and install the latest drivers.

Make sure to uninstall any drivers you have right now before doing so.

and delete fs9.cfg from your PC, back it up first and save a copy tho, you may want to edit the new one that gets created by fs9.

I don't think your drivers are installed correctly.

Try buying a decent AGP / PCI-E video card. Other than that, no idea. What does FS9 recognise as your graphics?

That's the point, it's not recognising anything.

Just wondering..... were you using onboard graphics by any chance before you upgraded?

If so, did you reset BIOS to AGP as primary display and / or turn the onboard video off in BIOS?
