http://www.navair.navy.mil/airexpo05/ ;  If anybody is interested.Looks like it going to be an awesome show. There is a Special Airshow for base personel this friday the 2nd. It will be nice because it won't be crowded but it is just the air part of it. The hangers won't be open with all the free posters and such. Statics will be on display though.  If anybody would like to come down friday I would be happy to give rides on base. I was a Navy brat so I have seen the Blue Angels perform almost once a year for the last 31 years they never fail to leave me awestruck.

if you are interested in the show on Friday.

Wow, wish I had seen this post a few days ago.  I could try to get up tomorrow morning and drive down there.  Will have to see if I can juggle my schedule.

Same reason I'm not going... there's a small airport fairly close by, but who knows how one would get to Pax River from there. If I'd heard about it sooner...
Anyway, I rather doubt they'll let you fly in- esp. the day of an airshow.

Saturday and Sunday were both awesome. Patty Wagstaff just kicks butt. THere was also an A10 that did a formation flight with a F86. Super Cool!!!! An F-14 made a couple passes and it was sad to think that that might be the last airshow I get to see where the Tomcat flies. Definately my all time favorite bird.  The geico skytypes were ok. I also liked the solo albatross. Oh .... and the YAK54 kiked ass!!!

Yes tons of people take boats. I think you can come within about a 1/4 mile. Alot of people watch it from Solomons Island and its about 2 miles away. As for the people who asked abot flying there planes in. Captain Walter Francis Duke at St.Mary's (Longest damn airport name) is about a 10 minute drive away. And yes tons of people flew in!

Cool!  Please post this in enough time when there's another show.  Would love to come down and see it.  I'm in Howard County, MD.  No need to fly in.. but I bet you get the best view from a boat.

My good friend put a demo on in his Yak 9 on Sunday, did you happen to catch that? My other friend's were also down in the B-25 Panchito. I almost flew down (into St. Mary's) but work kept me home this time.

I'll let them know they're appreciated. I've ridden in the B-25 a few times, I'm still waiting on my chance to ride in the Yak though.
