Hello All...!
The week-end visit to my local Airfield, Shobdon, (EGBS), for our Annual Air Race.
Popped up on my trusty Tiger Moth Motor-bike...(18 miles).
Fantastic weather, large crowd of enthusiasts, chance to meet the race pilots and admire their gorgous machines!
I had a FAB 2 days...got seriously cooked in the brilliant sunshine!

Here are just a few pics of the zillions I took at the time, (as you do!).
I'll post a few more of the best, and un-usual, in the next thread...(usual limits on size)...!

This is always a handicap race, and you will notice by the race results that the winning combination is the skill of the pilot with his particular machine..!
Even tho' it is a staggered start, there are only seconds between them at the end...!!
It's not always the biggest and fastest machine that wins!

I was hoping to see one of my favourite radial-engined aircraft racing this year, the Yak 52, but unfortunately it suffered a damaging bird strike on a wing during last years race... Cry...!
Buggar...!

Cheers all...!

Paul

More pics to follow... Wink...!

P.S. Note that most of our British air races are piloted by PPL pilots mostly flying private General Aviation aircraft...!
Reno is a different kettle of fish..... Mad radials and Merlins...LOL...... Grin...!
