Did you realize you can't land on bridges in Fs2002 ? Is there an option to activate/desactivate to make it possible. I don't really like to pass through them when I try to land on them. ???

No way to land on bridges in FS2002 or 2004. You either slam into them and get a crash when it's activated or you simply go through them...

You'd have to have a really wee light plane to be able to do it. The Sky baby is the only one that is narrow enough to get through a bridge. I think you could land on there without crashing, but having said that when I do those sorts of things I do without the crash detection on.

I figure that M$ decided to stop making landable bridges because this is a "Flight" simulator. FS98 allowed you to land on bridge. FS2k2 was the begining of the end for landable bridges.
However, I believe that as the interest for ground vehicles grows, M$ might bring back the landable bridges. If not, it is up to us to make such bridges.

Why does Microsoft take all the fun out of flight sims? We get into these things because we can't do in reality what we do here in our sim world. I'd love to land on the Golden Gate Bridge. I'd just love to land-- period. It seems a rip-off that we can't violate FAA rules willy-nilly, with digital impunity. And why not, when we can just click out of FS and nobody saw us do it!

The thing is you can violate FAA rules but in the real world you'll get caught. But as long as it's physically possible Microsoft should let you break as many rules as you like on FS. In the real world, however....
Try the Bell chopper. It works for buildings

I've fooled around a little with the helicopter; it's fun but I can't get it to go forward very fast and putting it down softly is a challenge. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I think it's possible to configure with Airport for Windows 2.6 an invisible building just under this bridge and make first an invisible runway as flightdeck, then make an invisible larger runway at sealevel as anchor and make a flatten around the "building".
If you want to start from this bridge, then save the flight and the next time choose to start from this location.

Find a nice long building at one of the major airports and try landing a 737 on the roof.
I have the same problem with the Bell as rootbeer (i.e. landing) I can descend fairly slowly until I get to about 50', when it starts dropping like a brick, if im quick enough I go shooting up into the atmosphere, if im too slow I leave a dent in the ground. As for hovering...!
Any rotary-wing type chaps around that can give some simple advice?

Yep, very simple..... fly to the nearest hangar and trade it for a Cessna or some other aircraft with wings.
