those engines and props are really bothering me. I know of 2 cycle gasoline motors that are used in RC that are smaller, probly lighter and swing alot bigger props than the ones on that plane.

For example a 50cc engine that only weighs < 3 lbs can swing a 23x10 prop. http://www.desertaircraft.com/engines_detail.php?Page=DA-50-R

no these engines may be 100cc sincle cylinder but looks huge compared to a 2 cyl. DA 100 http://www.desertaircraft.com/engines_detail.php?Page=DA-100 or 150 http://www.desertaircraft.com/engines_detail.php?Page=DA-150

i dont know, i may be wrong

I don't know why it should bother you as it obviously works & works well. The prototype Cri-Cri MC 10 was powered by 2 x 9 hp Rowenta chainsaw motors. These were very popular among large scale aeromodellers at the time. It's not surprising that the designer Michel Colomban was a keen aeromodeller himself. G-SHOG is a later MC 15 powered by specially designed 15 hp JPX PUL 212 engines. These are no longer in production. I can't find details of the diameter & pitch of the MC/692/200 propellers.
