Well if you go travelling for like four or five weeks then it is kind of useful.256 meg would only fit about 5 albumsat any fairly decent compression rate and in five weeks (even two) I can get pretty bored of only five abums.

Still waiting for my CD player to die. I shuffle through about 10 CD's. No need for a full-blown iPod. Who has 17,000 songs like Bjorn said? They need to get a life more than we do.
I am hoping to get a PSP for my birthday or Christmas though. Games, movies and music. Good deal.

Um? Hello? We are flightsimmers, how much more nerdy does it get.
Who takes? a laptop on holiday anyway. Besides quite often there are places that wont have the facilities to recharge it. A good mp3 player will last about 24 hours.

It's definitely one of the best for me as well-definitely changed the way I listen to music, broadened the horizons

Mine is a big wooden piece of furniture, with a wind-up handle on the side for playing large black records with a hole in the middle. The sound being produced by a steel needle running in grooves in the "record" and transmitting the sound through a tube, and finally to my ear-'oles via a large trumpet hidden behind a cloth grille.
