Hello all! Smiley

Spent the weekend working on my 65 comet caliente.. Smiley

Finally got away for the weekend and headed north to work on my comet,
thankfully my grandfather had bought just about every tool before he
passed away last year, sure makes things easier!

Saturday was spent mainly working on the paint, which included a nice
and thorough washing, along with a nice coat of turtle wax, along with
a little paint here and there to seal some bare metal to prevent any
more rust from forming.

Took some time and flushed out the power stearing system, and now it
sounds like new! Smiley (used to make a lot of noise...)

Had a little trouble with the manual choke linkage getting stuck early
sunday, but managed to clean it up and get it working properly pretty
easily.

Then Sunday was spent doing projects around the house for both of my
grandmothers who live up in conneaut... Smiley

Overall on a scale of 1-10 on productivity I guess I would give this
weekend a 6.5 because there was a lot more I could do but didn't get
the chance to due to budgetary constraints.

Also a lot of time was spent looking at what needs to be redone, or
bought to return the car to original condition in the years to come,
some of the main items are to redo the interior and get a new paint
job along with rebuilding the engine, but that all can wait until I'm
done with school here in a few months.

Attached are some links to photos we took over the weekend:

P.S. Richie we don't have to worry about lights anymore.. Wink Turns out the part I was removing was actually the bulb holder! The whole thing comes apart from the one end and they are replaced by the standard bulbs..... Roll Eyes Silly me...picked up the bulbs this morning and will install them this weekend if I get a chance to! Smiley

LOL, I know that feeling.  I have a different setup for my headlights-they are large round things that come as one part but are fairly common and can be easily found.

Thanks buddy.. Smiley It's a far cry from being even close to done, but it is looking a little better. When we take my grandmother home tomorrow I'm hoping to have enough time to swap out the coolant sending unit to see if this will give the coolant quage some movement. A check of the coolant system has proved that it is working, but the guage is not! Sad

I've ruled out the Constant voltage regulator because the one the coolant guage is on also runs my fuel guage which runs! Even better news is it's accurate! More so than the one in my 97 truck! lol...

So I figured for the 2.99 I could replace the sending unit and see if it works before I go out and try to find a guage for it... saw one on ebay a while back, but didn't have any money for it and wasn't sure if I really needed it...  Roll Eyes

But the good news is I know how to replace the tail lights now after looking at the master parts catalogue with expanded views of everything.. Smiley
