basically, i added the plane in my sig to fs2004, and then put it into the AI flight plans.

I was "flying" the tornado addon found in the fs2004 scenery section through the minneapolis-st paul (kmsp) airport when i saw the plutocon on the taxiway making figure eights while stuck between two gates, blocking traffic from entering the "v" of the terminals. obviously, the AI is having trouble finding it's way to the gate.

here's the AI version of the plane:
AC#60,17000,"The Plutonian Empire Concorde"

and the plane's flight plan:
AC#60,PE800PE,80%,6Hr,IFR,08:00:00,08:24:27,999,R,1,KMSP,11:00:00,11:24:27,999,R
,2,PLTO

Is it something in the code, or is it something with the aircraft itself?

...mmm...Not really an expert on this but that does look a MASSIVE aircraft you have there Grin  Maybe there is just not enough room for it to manoevre........just a thought.

You could edit the flight plan with a smaller plane and see the effect or change the airport to a bigger one to see that effect............nothing else to offer I'm afraid The flight plan looks sound enough to me..........commoner Wink

Can't help you there Eugene ........ but what mystifies me in the first place is why you'd want such a monstrosity flying around your virtual world in the first place when there's such a beautiful original that you could use instead  Grin  Tongue

Haha, thanks. lol. :p

actually, the plutocon is SHORTER than the concorde, but it does have a slightly wider body than the concorde, AND it has a wider wingspan.

Also, in the flight plan, what are the percentages for?

Oh, and while driving the tornado through the PLTO airport, i saw exactly the same thing, and moments later, another AI plutocon popped up out of thin air (i have more than one plutocon AI's flying), while the other plutocon just kept turning around in place, not moving an inch.

...

(had to use imageshack, cuz i had trouble linking to the image i uploaded to simviation.)

The % is traffic % in other words you will see that plane as long as your traffic bar is at 80% or better.

Also, that 17000 you have in the aircraft file is supposed to be flight speed! Put it around 250 to 300 and see if it works better.

Next, that 999 is altitude and I think 300 (30,000 feet) would work much better for the computer.

...Percentages in the flightplans decide if your aircraft is to be shown in your display or not.....the particular a/c will only display if your percentage slider is set to GREATER than the figure on your flightplan.....for example your PE Concorde shows 80%....turn your slider lower than that and it won't appear at all......higher and it becomes active again.Change the 80% to say 10% and it will be active even at low settings..........commoner Wink

TwoLow, i know that it was flight speed and the 17000 was intentional. In reality, the planes maximum mach is 4, but i wanted to see if the ai could fly it faster and higher than 30,000 feet. it is a supersonic transport, which is why i made the numbers so high.

In real life, when the plane is flown by me, it is extremely unstable at high speeds and altitudes, and is extremely difficult to land, which is why i wanted to see if the AI could do it.

Then the answer would be no.

The AI brain is stupid  Undecided

I do think I will see what the AI will do with the Wright Bros. plane if I program it for a cross country airline flight  Grin

I can hardly wait to see what you find out. Grin

Anyhoo, I gave the AI my airline version of the plutocon (same plane, different flight dynamics), and it works better with the airline version.

The reason i have 2 versions of the plutocon is this: when i first created it, when i still only had fs98, i gave the plutocon airliner the flight dynamics of a dc-3 with jet engines. the very first plutocon was much smaller than I intended, and was the airliner version. A few years later, i redid the plutocon and got the size it has now, and copied it to make the presidential version of the plutocon (the one you see in my sig). I the presidential plutocon kept the original flight dynamics, while i gave the airliner version the flight dynamics of a supersonic 747, and this time, i modified the flight dynamics so the flight dynamics would fit the larger size.

I got 2 results, the presidential plutocon could reach flight level 1000 in fs98, but only if the air temps at sea level were over 140 degrees Fahrenheit. the airliner was much heavier and couldn't reach the height and speeds of the presidential version.

Now, in fs2000 and fs2004, both aircraft are extremely unstable at any altitude above 35000, and oscillate from left to right and up & down wildly especially when the autopilot is on.

Also, i decided to follow one of the AI airliner plutocons via slew mode, and noticed that it far overshot the altitude ATC temporarily assigned it to immedieatly after takeoff (7,000) and couldn't get back down to it, so i got bored watching the AI being stupid so I went back to PLTO.
