Once again I have a problem I never encountered before. Whenever I want to start a flight from certain airports, FS2002 PRO freezes and I have to reboot.

A few tests showed that this problem is limited to airports in the Middle East (e.g. Cairo, Alexandria, Beirut) and India/Pakistan/Nepal (e.g. Mumbai, Karachi, Kathmandu).

I reinstalled the relevant files in SCENEDB, but this didn't work. Reinstalling FS2002 PRO seems a bit drastic.....

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

I just checked FS2002 in Cairo and Alexandria.  It does lock up. I even tried two different Cairo airports, still locked up.  It does not do that in FS2004.  I've had lock up problems with a few other FS2002 airports also, but not too often (2 years simming).  I would wait to see if anyone else comments on this before re-installing; I don't think a re-install will make a difference anyway.

Thanks. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem.

Who knows, maybe the problem will go away just like that, it wouldn't be the first time. After all, FS2002 at times seems to have a will of its own.....in the meantime, I'll wait and see if anyone else out there has any suggestions.

I had FS2002 for 2 years. I just uninstalled it from my system a few months ago. I used to fly all the time in the Middle East. I had Fly-Tampa's Dubai International. I used to fly around that area alot. I never experienced any lock-ups in FS. I have also flown in Cairo, Jerusalem, Amman, Riyadh, Jeddah and Tehran and I have never had anything happen to my sim...

I just flew from Cairo to Alexandria with no problems.

Have tried running the bgl scanner? (About 2/3 down the page.)
