Ok, how many of us have really heard about it? I found out that the first one is being built about 40 minutes from here, and in a few weeks there is an Aeronca flyin which includes a tour of their facilities..

hmm, nobody has any thoughts on the subject?
Or on the fact that they are hoping to use it as another method of transporting freight instead of using a truck?

Sorry Jared. Think I read about this but I haven't got much idea of what it looks like or what makes it different from a conventional airship. Your links aren't much help as there's no proper photos & they don't go into details. Large 'advanced' cargo airships have been tried several times in recent years, all without success so far. I really can't see this one being any different. Lighter-than-air craft have always been vulnerable to weather & I think this could still suffer from that problem, especially near the ground in strong, gusty winds. An airship makes a good observation platform in ideal conditions but would be very vulnerable to attack from the ground.

I remember "Cargolifter" some years ago here in germany.
They build a gigantic hall.. and everyone was shure it will be an success. I don´t know for shure the reason .. but meanwhile they are insolvent. The Hall is now a huge wellness oasis. You can find pictures here
