Well today i purchased the Brittish airport volumes 3 & 4 but only the airports are re-worked, not the area.
Now i have found the VFR photographic scnery, will this work with my brittish airports add on i bought, or will it collide and mix up.
And also does the VFR scenery have re-worked airports or does it just re-work the area it states e.g "central england"..im wondering this because is the Brittish airport add-on i bought a waste if im going to buy the VFR scenery.
Many thanks again with this slightly wierd topic.
Also whilst im on the matter, whats the VFR photo graphic scenery like?
For £9.99 i was wondering other wise thats all.

Many thanks, and cheers for any help, in advanced...as usual.. Wink

Hi Jimbo....!
The VFR scenery from JustFlight has been discussed here before....
I have Wales and the West, and Central and South England @ £20 each!.
Un-installed them long, long ago... Wink...!
Remember it is just a FLAT photograph laid over the default scenery, and is only realistic when above 2000 Feet AGL....below that and it's just a blurr....and at ground level EVERYTHING is FLAT....!!
The only things which "stick up" are the default airfield objects!

It's fine if you just want to follow roads, rivers, etc, above 2000 Feet, but that's about all...!

..'it's also a frame-rate hogger...!!

Cheers Mate...!

Paul.

P.S. ...sorry, JustFlight... Wink...!

Hi Jimbo, the better add on combination is the uk2000 airports with roads and rivers. PC PILOT mag gave the roads and rivers add on a very good review. The VFR stuff they said the same as Fozzer The roads and rivers is by www.justflight.com It looks good, I hope this is of some help, Chris

If you want accurate roads for the UK then purchase European Roads from Just Flight.

I posted some screenshots in the PW forum a few weeks back ....  HERE

Its great for VFR (IFR-- I follow roads) flying day or night.

Cheers Zeberdee,and eno..

I need to real'up my flight sim experience, and the roads are certainly impressive  8)
Does this package just include roads, or are any other scenery objects included, such as landscape and what have'ya.
Also because im not going to get the VFR range for the scenery re-work, is there any other good packages for the uk which will do the same job, and are nicer on the frame rates and work better, and good reviews.
Alot to ask, i know Grin

Thanks again for the info

I don't know if you have any of the World Mesh available in the downloads section. That will give a more accurate landscape. Combine it with the UK/Europe roads and you're almost there ....... If you want to mesh the whole planet in one fell swoop then FSGlobal ... also from Just Flight is the way to go. As for actually changing textures then Lennarts are good ..... and there's also loads of PW textures out there.... Just Flight have just intoduced their own package of textures.

Well, I picked up all four of the Photographic Scenery packs as they were just £9.99 (minus a fiver for my point redemption from JustFlight) and after great anticipation whilst loading the East and South East pack I have to say my first reaction was WHOA!! where have all the buildings gone. I didn't realise it would flatten everything and taking off from London City Airport without the 3 towers or the Dome was not what I expected.

I climed up above the suggested height but even then everything still gave the impression that a nuclear bomb had recently gone off and the place had been levelled completely.

Going towards Heathrow I just couldn't make anything out other than the airport in the distance. I just didn't feel as though I had just flown over the city, more like the countryside.

However, I turned back towards City Airport and decided to try to find some landmarks that I knew well. Things did then become clearer and I was able to find places near to my home that I was able to recognise. I did gradually get the feeling of flying over a real area as opposed to the generic stuff in FS9 but I am still unsure whether I will be keeping the scenery or not. The missing buildings are a real letdown for me!!

I have got the Visual Flight London pack that I hope will bring things to life again but there are not these type of packs available for everywhere so I will have to fly around a bit to see whether I get the feel for the scenery or not.
