The cool thing is, if you've got a question about payware, you can always just ask Savas about it.  8)

You guys are all very funny, I would never pay for software,if it's needed. If your'e lucky, and you have a p to p software like Limewire or Kazza, you can find some of that stuff for free, just download it. Can't tell you no more. Wink

let me be the first to say that you Citation X are the reason that there are idiots amongst us.

First of all, after such comments Im going to look through your post history for messages you stated on the payware and payware screenshots forum, find what you have listed as your "payware" and do what I can to contact the various companies and individuals that sell payware aircraft, sceneries, applications, utilities, etc and notify them that they need to check for your email address (that is hidden although I believe available to the Admins here), IP address(which is I believe available here), see if also stevenmangley@yahoo.com is listed on any of their products, websites, forums, or any name similar to that for them to investigate it and send you a bill or worse maybe even file a lawsuit against you.

WHY? because P 2 P is nothing but a means of theivery. Stealing someone's hard work. it doesnt matter if it is a song, a movie, a software file, a program, etc. Doesnt matter if you are stealing from a large corporation or an individual that put his blood sweat and time into something. its someone's livelyhood. And stealing is stealing.

it Because of piracy which you brazenly advocate, that some have even left the business of making flight sim add-ons.

maybe one day someone will break into your home or parents home and rob you blind. Maybe they will break into your car, or parents car. I hope "because you guys are all very funny"  as you put it - people like me who dont find piracy funny at all) someone does and steals all of your personal belongings. maybe then you might have an understanding that stealing something that belongs to you, or you stealing someones software online, are the same damned thing.

If I were an admin I would ban your ass immediately

Stephen

He confesed a criminal act, and I hope, as Savas pointed out, that someone will take care of him, and ban him from this forum.

I'd have to admit that I'm a payware junkie too...

...the most I have spent in a day on payware was somewhere around the $700 mark Lips Sealed Embarrassed

...but I have been controlling myself lately, haven't bought a single piece of payware in like 2 weeks! Grin

(I decided to take a break after I caculated that I'm running  a 3000+ dollar simulator Tongue)

Wow Savas, why don't you tell us exactly how you feel?  Wink Wink Wink

JK.  I agree with you completely and then some!  Some of us work damn hard for the money we earn.  I wouldn't want my boss coming to me and tell me that I am not getting paid but they are keeping and using my work anyway.  And after seeing the quality of the payware that I have just bought, I am sure those developers worked their a$$e$ off.  Off with CitationX's head I say!!! - venting.

WIth that said.  I have recently become a payware addict myself.  Just this past weekend I bought the following:
  • Carenado Cessna 182 RG
  • KDEN from imagine simulations
  • KSFO from fly tampa
  • Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska
  • Ultimate Terrain USA
  • Pacific Northwest by Megascenery
  • Northern California by Megascenery
  • FSGenesis land class
  • Misty Fjords

That was just this past weekend and it doesn't include what I had already bought before.  I don't have a problem buying all these at once thanks to Michael's (a.k.a ramsa) advice on most of these products.  They are all worth the money if you have it to spend.  The only problem is that I am about to lose my job.  Grin Grin Grin I keep calling in sick just so I can stay home and fly!!! Grin Grin Grin  Thanks again to Michael at FS-GS.

Whew, I refrain from buying more payware.  The more I fly a different plane for example, the less I will fly a plane I bought before.  I guess thats how I keep away from the addiction.   Grin  Need some good scenery textures though... and gotta save up for that PMDG 747!

And as for whoever admitted to downloading payware from kazaa or whatever, shame!  Stealing is bad, even if you think that it isnt worth the money for something like an extra plane for flight sim  (afterall theres freeware thats free).  Delete your payware and don't do it again.

Cheers,
RB

Unless that song/recording  is in the public domain, someone has title to it.   If I were to lend you my CD of a recording, I am not committing a crime, because I do not have the use of that CD while YOU are using it.  However, if you make a copy of that CD, then the crime is committed.  Sharing music is no different.  I buy a song off an online provider.  I agree not to distribute that onwards, then I go ahead and do it anyway, contrary to my contract, and denying that provider compensation for his service, and up the line to the composer/musicians for their talents.

I belive its still legal in the UK..

I have downloaded songs.. But i go out and buy that album after a day or so.. so i dont think thats so wrong, as your going to buy the thing....

I never like to rip anyone off, especially the music industry, as most artists dont make a lot selling cd's they earn Via, live concerts..

The thing is, only a small fraction of the money you pay goes to the artist.  The rest of the money goes to the record company, and I really don't care about ripping them off.  Call it revenge of the middle class.

Depends what the contracts like..

Most bands do get the majority of the money from cd sales.. but that normally goes to expenses..
Live shows are what normally funds the bands these days..
