I have recently downloaded some fs2002 aircraft just see what would happen if i put them in fs2000 and to my suprise most of the aircraft do actually work!
I was just wondering if anyone knew if it is safe or not to be using fs2002 aircraft in fs2000?

microsoft fs's are backward compatible ... meaning most applications will work in PREVIOUS sims.

However, a few aircraft released for FS2004 work for FS2004 only, due to technologies not used in FS2002. It's best to keep this in mind if you're going to be using FS2004 in the near future.

This is not usually the case. Later versions of FS will have features, like improved texture formats, that are not compatible with earlier versions. Many earlier 3rd party FS2002 aircraft were simply existing FS2000 models updated to work in the later version. In this case you might as well use the originals. I don't think proper FS2002 models will be compatible, any more than proper FS9 models are compatible with FS2002.
