I sold my current rig and I have to deliver it on Monday so I ordered my new parts today..... if Australia Post is as reliable as ever, they should be here in the morning! I love next day service!

I'll have to take it away with me to work and build it in my spare time over the weekend. No internet connection there, so I'll let you know how it went next week.

I bought an Asus A8N SLI mobo, 64bit 3500+ venice cored CPU and a Leadtek 6600GT video card. Before you think I'm a tightwad, that little lot set me  back $915 AU dollars for the 3 items, rock bottom price here.

I couldn't even afford the PC4000 ram, so I'll be trying to overclock it immediately on air to 217mhz fsb speed with my PC3500 ram, (DDR 434mhz). This will give my cpu a speed of 2387 mhz.

A 3800+ cpu runs at 2400 mhz, so I'm hoping for performance close to that, at least until I upgrade my ram and get serious about trying to overclock the new 3500+ venice core. A friend of mine just saw a 3500+ venice cpu running at 2700mhz on air cooling, so the potential is definitely there.

Looks like a nice setup youve got going there. Go with a Zalman heatsink to seriously O/C that AMD.

Hope your FS looks good.

Wow!

What a nice bit of hardware. I'm stoked to say the least.

I accidently left it underclocked tonight (from earlier testing of the CPU multipliers) and hosted/flew IL2FB/PF and FS9 and didn't even notice the difference it's so fast!

Pretty amazing when you can slow the thing down and still get smooth flying in heavy addon scenery.

Congo happy!    Grin
