Taking off from Wolf Creek (1U1) was a lot easier without the nasty crosswind we had on arrival last week flying into a box canyon ended runway with no "go around" option.

Tonight three of us (Jeff, Jared, and myself) made this hop of the tour.    Took about 1 1/2 hours due to a pretty good headwind working against us again....... running real world weather.  The crosswind on landing on Rwy 4 was a little tricky here too.

The general countryside we overflew was beautiful, with some nice mountains to wind our way thru on the climbout and then wide open valleys with farmland and towns as we neared our destination.  We followed a major highway VFR for a good long ways, passing numerous small towns and a lot of small airports.  Over another ridgeline of mountains.... and down to Mission Field in Livingston, Montana.

Gotta go get a bit to eat at the airport cafe and find a place to stay until next weekend.  Wink

Here below the photo shows us enroute just after breaking out of the mountains:

marick,

It is the background itself.  I am running FSGenesis terrain mesh, FSGenesis USA landclass, American roads, Streams, and Railroads, and NU Roads Repaver....... all payware.

Even though it is not hugely obvious in this particualor location.......... it is there and does make a difference ....and technically is payware.  So it is easier to stay "legal" to post the stuff here.

best,
