After evading a maurauding P-51 that came on us out of nowhere...........
four of us made the next leg in the round the USA flight tonight. The photo below shows us enroute.
Moose Creek (1U1) is a really interesting airport.... that is a real challenge with a severe crosswind! The windsock was out straight. The approach on the long grass runway has some trees on one end and a rock wall on the other (particularly with the FSGenesis mesh). There is no go around room.
I bounced it a bit on the touchdown.... probably killed the landing struts. All of us made it to the ground.....but it wasn't pretty. But is was fun.
Join us next Saturday night.
best,
......john

Thanks....... it was fun once again. That was a great airport to fly into "sight unseen". The photo at AirNAV gave a hint of the likely issues..... but flying in after only a brief time to chack it out from the air was interesting.
That is beautiful country up there.... and the FSGenesis mesh / landclass makes it really nice.
best,

Citation5,
I'd say you should check with Jared. This USA Tour online flight is organized by Jared...... but as far as I know it is open to anyone who wants to join us. I've flown in three of the four "hops". It has been happening Saturday evenings at 9:00 - 11:00 PM (USA local Eastern time). Slated for next weekend too as far as I know.
Head down to the Multiplayer Forum and look for the past four main threads on this stuff to get some background of what / how/ why it all is working. Also make sure that you have your necessary ports opened in firewalls, routers, cable/dsl modems, virus software and so on. Instructions for that (in general) are posted in "stickys" in the forum there.
You really do need to set up Skype (as it says in those threads). Voice comms are fun on the 2 hour-ish XC flights these hops are. Typing in the chat box and flying are not fun
. Not to mention voice really helps to keep aircraft separatron on the finals.
So........ see you next Saturday PM?
best,
......................john
