Hello all
I have a problem with my framerate: when I'm on the ground in outside view it drops dramatically. Why does this happen? It can't just be caused by the shadow and the turning wheels now, can it?
BTW it's even worse with AI traffic on!
Can anyone help me?

Hi Pidgeon,
There can be a nuimber of reasons for poor frames in the Spot plane view. Firstly, the model could have a high polygon rate. Keep in mind that a high polygon model will require a powerful PC to manage decent frame rates. Autogen scenery also usues alot of resources, so try turning down your settings and not leaving it Maxed out. More complex scenery, like most add-ons will usually drop your FPS significantly. In addition, the AI traffic uses alot a memory and therefore requires a decent machine. I had Ultimate Traffic by Flight1 and a decent system but still got 9FPS in LHR where as in the country side, I usually got 40-50 FPS (Locked at 60). Try turning down the AI traffic percentage from 100% to 90 or 80%. It makes a big difference. Also, out of curiosity, what are your PC's specs?
Cheers,

Something that also makes a big difference to frame rates is the cloud settings. Turn down your cloud density to around 55-60% and there is a noticeable improvement, and the clouds don't really look all that different.

Thanks all
But I tried all these things and it didn't make any difference at all... It helps to turn off the shadow though, but how can low framerates be caused just by a simple shadow?  ???
BTW I pointed out that the AI taffic makes it worse to state that I hadn't turned it on in the first place!  Grin
