So they start practicing, making run after run on a dummy tunnel entrance...

The German raid doesn't stop them... here they are, ready to strike the chateau on Sunday morning, when the POWs are all in the chapel, near the wall...


They make their runs on the tunnel, and with only one two planes left with one bomb each, one of the pilots, whose ship is damaged and bombadier dead, sacrifices himself so that the last bomb can be used on the wall...


The plan works! The tunnel is blocked, the wall is breached, the Resistance fighters pour through to take on the guards, and the POWs escape (well, most of them)...
