After putting in the localizer frequency, I don't get any glideslopes at Denver Int'l (KDEN). None apparent when approaching either. Other airports I have noted have one or two missing glideslopes but none as severe as Denver. Many airports have all woprking glideslopes, for instance, Memphis Int’l (KMEM). Any thoughts?

I have kicked this problem around at another forum. Some responders said that they had glidescopes at airports on runways where I didn't have any. Others mentioned AFCAD and Ttools, but did not tell me how to get glidescopes using these two programs.

If I don't have glidescopes on a particular runway and others do, it seems to me that I have some problem with a scenery .bgl. I'm looking for a way to get into the Denver and other airports scenery program where I don't have glidescopes and others do. I'm looking for some file that, for example, might say "Glidescope--no," and I can change it to "Glidescope--yes."

Can anyone say for a fact that AFCAD can provide a glidescope where one currently does not exist?

If you can, please tell me the section number in the AFCAD manual where this can be accomplished.

Having read the AFCAD manual it appears that AFCAD only covers AI aircraft and their movement from place to place and around a particular airport and changes no visible scenery. If that is wrong please correct me.

Somehow I think the solution is probably quite simple, possibly some misstep inadvertantly made by me.

Let me know if this problem belongs in a different forum.

I saw this topic before, was it yours?  This probably belongs in a different forum, either FS04 or FS02, depending on which sim you use, because I seriously doubt it's a panel problem.

OTOH, it could be a scenery file problem.  Have you tried disabling all addon scenery near Denver?

If you use 02, the library has a utility to scan the scenery .bgl files and tell you if you have a bad one but I don't know whether there is an 04 equivalent.

I don't use AFCAD so I can't help there.

Webb,

Thanks for the response.

It probably was my post you saw. Though no solution forthcoming yet. Maybe there is none, but I'll try a little longer and then just fade away. (like Gen. McArthur)

For those who feel AFCAD may be the solution I quote the following:

Taken from the AFCAD manual file.

"The NAVAID information contained in facility files does not have any affect on how your aircraft’s instruments work. That information actually comes from visual scenery files, which AFCAD doesn’t deal with. For example, if an airport you fly into has a misplaced localizer beam, this won’t allow you to fix it. The NAVAID information in facility files is just presented for information purposes on the FS map view and GPS windows.”

Unless someone can point to a specific AFCAD section, the above seems to tell me that AFCAD won't help with this situation.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
