It's a complex flying machine ......which you can choose to fly either way.
For realism ........ start with a cold dark cockpit and do the checks as in the real world ...... program the FMC and take off and fly the flightplan.

Its a way more complex aircraft, and you do have to do some checks. Theres working hydraulics, fuel, fire surpression, flight management computers. Don't let that scare you though, though this thing is modelled quite realistically, an NG is super easy to fly once you get it figured out
Cheers,

Do yourself a couple favors...
1. Purchase both PMDG 737NG packages
2. Take the time to learn them.
...money and time, well spent.

the PMDG is good but wouldn't you rather be in a PSS Airbus A320?

I prefer the PSS airbus for some reason, the A321 on the other hand on that package is slightly wierd.
BUt i also like the PMDG 737....theres nothing stopping me!

While the PSS Airbus is VERY nice, it just bores me to death. The PMDG 737, in my opinon offers more visuals in comparison to the PSS Airbus.

On that point i have to agree, the 737 is actually a fun plane to fly and you can control lots of things, but the Airbus is too computerised, one bad point i think

Both planes pretty planes are supposed to fly themselves from wheels up to final approach but I guess the 737 leaves a little more to the pilot than the A3XX series. Still, I love the being in a Bus, love the sound, love the panel, and love the way the fly....to each his own I guess

The proper way, it should take about 30-40 minutes before the NG even thinks of leaving th runway. It has extensive pre-flight checklists, procedures and pre-flight planning requirements if used with the FMC and following actual procedures.
The
plane to own. I only have the PMDG 737-600/700 because they dont have the boxed -800/900 down at my local gamestore, but I give the highest regards to this incarnation of the NG!!!
