There haven't been that many examples of that over here. Really the Typhoon's the first one where a name's been re-used. Also over here it would be irrelevant as each aircraft has a designation and Mark number (Mk 1, 2, 3 etc...). The current generation of Typhoon has the F.2 (Fighter, Mk 2) and T1 (Trainer, Mk 1). This can also been seen on every other RAF (and Army and FAA) aircraft, For example, the Tornado has the GR4 (Ground (attack) and Recce, Mk 4) and the F3 (Fighter. Mk 3)...

Forgot about the Dominie, and of course both Dominies are product of Mr DH...

Hawker Fury and Hawker Fury II (land variant of Sea Fury) too...
