Thank goodness, and you are correct I didn't see that tell-tale sign.

Nice idea for a water cooling system that you have going on!

I change my hoses on occasion. I changed them 3 times since I started about 2 years ago, but not a single part in the system is original...... My back-up computer also has a water cooling system based on a Thermaltake Aquarius system from it's evolution in this computer. I also remove my water block every time I replace hoses, and inspect it.

To tell the truth, I did have a %15 mixture of Anti-Freeze in the picture shown (not any more however), that was to combat the sub-zero temperatures my coolant was running at. If you can suggest a substance that will allow my coolant to operate at a temperature as low as -6C without screwing up my pump, let me know!
