Also it seems as if the helo AI are very particular about having a place to park. I just got some heli AI up and running and the main thing holding me back this whole time was not having a good AFCAD file with parking specs for helos.
Also keep in mind that the helis with landing gear instead of skids seem to be much easier to get working properly. They are able to taxi to the runway on their wheels just like fixed wing a/c.
I've also noticed that most if not all of the heli AI that I have that works have had their .air files modified. So, and I could be wrong about this, it looks like a normal helicopter .air file won't cut it for AI purposes.
There's a really good helo AI package over at avsim for Ft. Rucker in the U.S.A. (Search "Fort Rucker") It includes AI helicopters, AFCADS for the helicopter bases, and scenery. Once I downloaded this I could compare my AFCADS and flight plans against the ones in this package and see what I needed to fix to get my helo AI working.
Give that a shot.
