I was at the big Guitar Center sale today and came home with a brand new Warlock to go along with my older NJ series with the Floyd Rose, this one is the Deluxe series, solid bridge, (awesome, no more problems tuning down to D and back to standard), Widow headstock, (I'm afraid of breaking it!), and the greatest part of all... neck thru body! Every guitar I have ever owned has been a bolted on neck.
I have been playing a Jackson DK2 for the past couple of months and it is a nice guitar, but I found out quickly that the volume knob is in the way for my playing style, and I didn't like the center single coil pickup, I had to lower it into the body to keep from hitting it with my pick.
So I guess once a BC Rich man always a BC Rich man, I love the Warlocks and always have, I like the beasts too but that big pointy rear spike would most certainly get damaged strapped on me.
I can't find much info on the Deluxe series Warlocks, I didn't even look at the list price, I would guess around $1000 considering they had the price marked down to $599 on the sale tag for the big Memorial day sale, I walked out the door with it including a coffin case for $475, I love Guitar Center!!

Okay, here are a few pics.
The new Warlock Deluxe in Coffin Case.
NJ on left, Deluxe on right.
Almost the rest of my studio setup, there is a rack setup on the left out of the picture with some various gear mounted on it (preamp, compressor, 31 band EQ, etc.).

I don't have anything ready yet, I just started writing some new material, it has been around 7 years since I last recorded, it is taking a little effort to get back into shape. I plan to write and record a whole CD, I'm not able to say what it will be like at this point but so far it seems like it is going to be pretty heavy.
New song ideas are coming to me everyday, but as is the case with all the years I wrote music, more ideas will be lost or forgotten than I will ever have time to write and record.
When I do finish this project I will let everyone here know, could be a while, these things take time and I don't have a whole lot of spare time during 'overtime season'.

I'm actually selling my Warlock. That and my classical guitar. Replacing them with a Epiphone Les Paul Standard and a new Fender 1600 Stage amp.
That is a bitching guitar Paz. If my bich was that that nice maybe I wouldn't be selling it.

I know, I'm insulting the metal gods.. But I've been getting annoyed playing it.
I can't find a picture of it, but its a Bronze series, black, widow headstock, one humbucker, and it has a skull graphic behind the bridge. It's a little dirty because it hasn't been used in so long, has some small scratches in the finish here and there, and it has two nasty dents in the spikes at the back because I dropped it. Thats all I can remember off the top of my head.
But this is what I am replacing it with...
Always wanted a Les Paul more than a Warlock anyway. And with the sale of my Warlock and my classical Yamaha, I should be able to afford the guitar and the amp.

Well, if you feel a Les Paul style better fits your personality then that is what you should be playing, as for me, I tried going with the Jackon DK2 but it just isn't me, Warlocks are, and soon I will see how I feel strapping on a Beast, I'll post another pic, when the Beast arrives.

Jackson makes a good guitar. The lead in my old band had a Jackson V of some sort. It was nice, but the V style gets in the way for me. I haven't heard anything about the Beast. Tell me what you think of it when you get it.

les pauls are very nice, ive got an epiphone and a gibson, and the difference in quality isnt as big as you'd expect... a friend of mine has replaced his stock epi pick ups with gibson '57's and it sounds sooo good now.
ive put emg's in my epi les paul and it sounds just like zakk wylde's
im gonna look into getting a bc rich at some point, but ive just ordered and esp truckster (james hetfield signiture) so i gotta wait a while!

I just got my Les Paul today, and I couldn't be happier! I bought it used real cheap and it is in much better condition that I thought it would be. Infact, it is in near perfect condition except for a nickel sized spot on the neck, behind the first fret where the finish has chiped off.
I find it easier to play and much more comfortable to play compared to a Warlock. So I know I made the right chose in the switch.

The Beast is a bit uncomfortable to play sitting down, lots of points, one jabs me in the chest and another pokes my leg, probably best used standing, would make a great stage guitar, the speedloader trem is cool though, once you get it tuned you never have to worry about tuning again if you change a string, except for the fine tuning of course.

Looks wicked Paz. Does it sound any different than a Warlock? I went to Guitar Center in Albany today to try and sell mine. They almost bought it, but they don't buy stuff from minors.
The guy thought I was at least 25. Pretty good for a 16-year-old. I should look into getting a fake ID...

The beast and warlock have the same pickups in them so the pretty much sound the same right now, however the Deluxe Warlock has great sustain due to the neck through design, the Beast is only an NJ series so it is a bolt on neck.
What I plan to do is put heavier strings on the Warlock for recording most rhythm parts since it is a fixed bridge, and a lighter guage on the beast for soloing and doubling the guitar parts.
The Floyd Rose speedloader trem seems to stay in tune much better than a regular Floyd, of course it has a built in trem block that helps to keep it in tune, it can be removed so it can be used as a true floating tremelo, but I don't need that, (I only recall writing one song in the past where I pulled up on the trem bar as part of a riff), my Jackson has a floater and so does my other Warlock, but I have to replace the trem in that one because some of the bridge saddle set screw holes are stripped and I cannot set the intonation properly, the new trem is on it's way.
So, if I string them up that way, the DLX Warlock should have a heavier low end for thick rhythms, and the Beast will be a little crunchier and better for harmonics and string bending wee-wee's and dive-bombs, I've found a way to hold it while sitting that isn't so painful, but this is heavy metal man, and my new stuff is brutal and all about pain and decapitation and such, (think Slayer+NIN+Type O Negative=Paz) so if I hurt, it will come out in the tunes, it's coming along rather well, but very slowly due to so little spare time.

Here's one of my latest aquisition's, hot pink Warlock, Nj series with reverse headstock and EMG select pickups, Floyd rose trem, not a scratch on it, looks unplayed, found it at a pawn shop for $160.00, a great deal!
Ordered a white coffin for it and there you go, plays like the metal machine it is!
