Hey Chris,

Best thing to do is have a look at some of the Pixia User Sites. Most of them have Forums with Tutorial here and there written up as threads Smiley

Here are a few...

http://park18.wakwak.com/~pixia/
http://graphicfree.proboards9.com/
http://www.bildsajten.com/pixia/pixia.htm
http://pixiaart.proboards32.com
http://pixia.rangfar.com/

Any of the repainting tutorials is a help.  The principles are the same, it's only the program specific buttons you need to figure out.

Precisely The key to any art work is being able to use the tool(s) provided. I don't consider myself an aircraft repainter per ce but i am an artist. I manage to repaint my FS9 planes to my own satisfaction using Pixia 3.1 (which is FREE)
Sample
...

Here's Pixia with 24bit PAI paint-kit loaded
...

From here on it's simly a matter of using Layers to add the requisite features; i.e., paint, text, logos, etc., and saving it as BMP and convert to DXT3 using DXTbmp.exe

There ya go . . . a complete repainting tutorial (using any paint program of your choice).

Thank you for your salutary comments. I just copy and paste onto a new layer from the photos using the Pixia bezier tool. Couldn't sell 'em for a dime but i'm having fun . . .

Love the Dragonair repaint Cheesy

I have gone to the tutes and read the help file and that clarified most things.  But  Roll Eyes i still have a couple of questions.

1.  How do i paint a design without erasing the details on the plane?  ie.  Door frames, lines things like that.

2.  How do i select multiple things.  Like if i wanted to put all the windows on a layer for example, how would i be able to select all the windows?  I can only select one window at a time.

1.)  Make Layer Hybrid (see through)

2.  How do i select multiple things.  Like if i wanted to put all the windows on a layer for example, how would i be able to select all the windows?  I can only select one window at a time

2.)
a.) Do  not have ANY screen-capture programs running
b.) Do Not Use Keyboard Command: CTRL+C/CTRL+V (Pixia3.1 will hang or crash) Use mouse to select (any shape); rightclick and select Copy; deselect area (by clicking elswhere in frame; rightclick-Paste; move to location position and rightclick using Paste (again)
See screenshot
...
c.) Set Opacity to 99 percent on Layer0 (paintkit) to prevent black=chrome (i set all layers to 99per) Layer0 remains Normal.
d.) Another option would be to Copyand Paste Layer0 (paintkit) to a new Layer and delete the unwanted parts.

Thanks for all your help wij Cheesy  Still not getting the second one tho.  Do you mean (when you paste it) to paste it as a new layer?

I want to be able to mask the windows, but not the white in between them.  Do you get what i mean?? I am really bad at explaining things.

...

See how the windows are over the top of the dragons head and tail?  That's what i mean.  Is there a way to mask all the windows in one go, or do i have to do them one at a time.

It doesn't appear to me the windows are 'over the top of . . . '
Yes, the Logos (dragon image) are on a separate layer (as shown in first screenshot). Make sure ALL work is saved as a Pixia file(*.pxa). SaveAs BMP (merged or not merged) before converting to DXT3.

If Layer0 is at the top of the Layer's stack and the other layers are Hybrid, everything from the paintkit should show through.

that's all i did and it seems to work. hope this helps

Sorry bout my REALLY bad explaining.  Here is a hyperthetical (hope that's spelt right Grin) example.  Say i want to paint orange over the windows on this plane

...

I added a new layer, and changed it to Hybrid, then painted the orange over the top.  But the windows are now tinted orange.  The orange IS on a seperate layer, but the windows are tinted orange.  How do i isolate the windows so that i can paint around them with the orange, and have the windows stay the same.

Thanks Grin
