Well your CPU kicks his in the ass. I cant say 750 megs of ram is better than 2 gigs unless you have something like PC-4000 and hes got PC-2100 or something. The SLI GTs will def give his card a run for its money. If I were you tell him to dl 3dmark2005 or something and trade screens of you benchmarks. Im rooting for you.

You can tell that wannabe to shut up untill he learns more about comps becouse your comp is far from "crap"

He is really talking "crap".

There is no such thing as a AMD 3000 64 fx-55, if it was the 64 3000 then you would win in 32-bit apps.  If it was the FX-55 then you would not win.

You can't get 750MBs of RAM.  Also twin 6600GTs would not beat an X850XT PE.

Oh yea!! Well my car is faster than yours. Well, maybe not. But then I only need it to get me back and forth to work. Don't need it to be faster than yours.    Grin

What I am saying is, does your computer do what you want it to to your satisfaction? It does?? Then what do you care if his is better or yours is better.

Oh Yea!! My Dad can beat your Dad up!!  Wink

Get it? Now, on to something important.  Grin

X850xt PE, although a 6800 Ultra could give it a run for its money.  The 6800U will probably win in openGL mode and the X850xt PE will win in Direct3D.

Most games are Direct3D...

I'd go for the 6800Ultra, but, only in PCI-Express form, and I'd have a motherboard with 2 PCI-Express slots free, get a second 6800Ultra and Nothing currently available will beat it for price* or performance!

*Little change from £1000, 2 6800Ultras & SLI Motherboard......  Shocked

Oh my heart is failing to all of you AMD and nVidia users. My card (ATi X800 PRO) may not bench as much as your 6800 Ultra, but i bet its twice as stable. And dont get me started on AMDs. Hotter core temps (than even my O/Cd presscot) and more cycles. Please try telling my that your system runs as nicely as mine

Pentium 4 H/T (yes its the dual core one) @ 3.8Ghz
1G PC3200
ATi Radeon X800 PRO 256mb DDR2

And cobzz your system does kick his, but why did u waste your money on the X850 (when the X800 is exactly the same) and unless your doing massive amounts of graphical editing your probibly not going to need 2G, but nice setup neway

Uhh sorry Ctjoyce but AMD is an OCers choice because low temps, low power use, and just games better. Pressys are the hottest chips out there, they perform well yes but I don't need my computer beeing my heater.. Nvidia is about the same way, im not big to the vid oc thing but a nvidia card has 2 power intake so its not starved for power when ocing and nvidia has a huge reputation for being the most stable card, infact thats a main reason why I choose Nvidia over ATI. Seems like every time ATI gets new drivers ppl have a crazi load of probs. How can your P4 be dual core AFAIk they are not eve relised yet  and if they are they are only server side.??? You prolly see the Hyperthreading act as a "virtual" core.

lol i choose ati because my last 2 graphics cards
geforce 4 mx420  and fx5700 have both sounded like old cars, i even got it checked out about it. The x850is qiet, its only loud when i start the computer but itls like that for 2seconds.
