Hi All...!
...another Firefox problem has suddenly popped up....

AArrrrggghhhh!

At the time of installing it, some time ago, my preferred site automatically appeared in my Firefox browser after selecting: Control Panel > Internet Options > General...and typing in my home page.....(Freeserve)....followed by "Apply".

For some strange reason it now insists on defaulting to...

.....google.co.uk/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB: official

No matter what I do in Options, nothing seems to change it...!!
(It should be:  http://www.freeserve.com ; )...!

Pic here...note that the "Use Current" is permanently greyd-out...!>>>

...

Cheers all...!

Paul...I don't want to have to keep searching for, (or typing in), my Freeserve home page each time I log-on...!!

...obviously your old mate is missing something out...(half his brain cells?...)...!
LOL...!

I can't guarantee this will work -

Type about:config in the address bar.  You will see a lot of gibberish and another box titled "Filter".

Go down to the "Filter" box and type "home" (without quotes).  You should see an entry titled browser.startup.homepage.  Right click on it and click on Modify in the information panel.  Manually type your home page information and save it.

Close Firefox and restart.

Glad to hear it.  It's always fun to experiment with other people's computers.

You might want to run an adware/spyware scan to make sure you don't  have anything that's going to hikack your home page again.

Also Fozzer have you updated your Firefox? Current version is 1.0.4, you can check for updates by double clicking the icon on the upper right of the browser window (this may be located in another spot depending on what theme you may be using)
Also I noticed that the screenshot you posted doesn't look anything like my options box?? looks like IE, must be default FF theme?

I think the internet options in control panel only pertain to IE. FIrefox has its own settings accessed from the dropdown menu from tools--> options.

Yeah that is what I was going at, his screenshot was a MS options panel which would mean that anything he does with it won't have any effect on FireFox.
So there you go Fozz! use your browser tools in FF Wink
