The image is copied to the clipboard ....... you need to paste it into an image editor.

I would suggest downloading  a screenshot program such as FSScreen, so you can take multiple images and they aren't overwritten every time you hit printscreen.

cheers

That is correct. If I want a screenshot of something, other than flight sim, then I paste it into paint.
However, if on the sim, you won't want to do that every few seconds! So get FSScreen. You can take up to 999 shots Shocked and all you do is press the print screen key and it stores them all in a folder. You have it running while you fly. 8)

Yeah, but can FSscreen save as jpg ? Because when I took some screens with it, it saved them as bmp, and I quickly had 200MB screens after half an hour.

Most of the screen capture programs will save as .bmps.

I then use a free and very usefull little utility called Irfanview to edit, resize, add text and save to jpeg file.

Google Irfanview, download it and enjoy this great free image editing program.

You can also open those images in plain old MS Paint and save to jpeg, but I still like Irfanview better.

Besides, with both Paint and Irfanview, there is a whole lot of stuff you can do with all your pics.

I know, but I like YAFSScreen better, than, because you can choose the pic size, the format, and the comprimation, so I take a pic and have it as jpg, 800x600, less 100 kb, ready to upload, and the quality isn´t too bad.
You may get that one here at SimV somewhere.

Hi,

If you take a screenshot by pressing "Print Screen', then you activate Paint (MS Paint already on your PC). In Paint you go to "Bewerken" (in Dutch)... sorry I do not know the name (so search in the Menu above)...  and click on paste. Now you will see your screenie.
You can save it and you can cut a part of it.
If you want a part of the screenie: cut a part... then click copy... activate a new screen and paste you copy into it. If a message asks you to change the image into the new image: say no.

Hope this helps.

Greetz. José.

Check Martin Wright's MW Graphics at http://www.fly.to/mwgfx/.

The download is called Multigrab which can store about 300 print screen shots as jpegs.

It's very simple and very effective.

Give it a try.
