The title of 'Worst Song Ever' now rests proudly on Akon's shoulders for giving us all 'Lonely' - the song itself could be bearable, but everytime I hear that stooooooooooooooooooopid squeaky voice singing backing vocals I just want to shoot every radio at work!!

Who's he singing with?? the 'Chipmunks'??

God I hate that song.

(Rant over - normality will be restored in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.............)

Anybody else heard it??

Cheers,

TSC.

No, I don't believe I've heard it.  But I think the title of worst song ever belongs to Styx with "Fooling Yourself."  I want to shot myself when I hear that song.  It gets stuck in my head and AARRRGGGHH!!!!!!

The song "We Built This City" by Starship was accurately voted the worst song ever recorded.

But by Rolling Stone right?  I wouldn't believe much printed in that publication!  There are much worse songs out there than "We Built This City."

webuilt this city, I would say, it has bad lyrics but it has a nice beat and its catchy. And even though we built this city is bad the band has other song that are good, like "nothings gonna stop us".

I dont know why but I like it. ???

I would say "we will rock" and "we are the champions" by Queen are pretty bad songs.

But they're more anthems than songs really.

Have a listen to 'Lonely' here:

http://music.channel.aol.com/artist/main.adp?artistid=535592&#

& then tell me that the stupid voice didn't make you want to blow your speakers away with an Uzi.

Like I said, the song could be ok - but it just gets ruined.

I dont know if you guys have heard (or how its possible if you havnt) anything from The Darkness, but they are the no. 1 worst band I have ever encountered in my entire life! as if the 80's didn't suck enough the first time around, they tried to bring it back! It actually makes me angery to hear "I believe in a thing called love". I once made a complaint to a radio station about that song, I told them that the 80's called and wanted their music back. Corney joke perhaps, but it did get me played on the air, LOL.

While I agree that The Darkness blow chunks, I take exception to the slagging of '80s music. When I was about your age (ohboy, here he goes...) it was the mid-80s, and while there was some truly craptacular music on the charts, none of it really sounded like those guys. There was a lot of really good rock out there in the 80s: Devo, Talking Heads, Husker Du, Black Flag, Nina Hagen, Metallica, Ministry, etc., etc... I'll admit it was better in the early 80s, but off the top 40, it was still a pretty cool scene.
The Darkness sort of sound like a cross between Cheap Trick and Focus, but both of those bands were way better (in the 70s)... I think their whole approach is to irritate the boyfriends of every teenage girl in the civilized world, thus winning the girls'  affection...

The worst song ever in the history of our planet is "Popcorn". It's an instumental from the 70's. If you can find it, DO NOT LISTEN TO IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! It is pure hell.  Grin
