a good free scenery add on that covers large areas (not just a few miles)? I have begun installing FS Genesis - but I have noticed some great screenies in the Screen shots forum that have much nicer scenery. I fly most flights in Europe, Canada and the US. Is there anything better or equivalent to FS Genesis and if so - can I have a link?
Thanks,
Ben
P.S Please don't move this to the ad ons wanted or no-one will get to read it.

I think you may have to do it in "chunks", but not small ones
I particularly enjoy the enhancement of flscenes, florida landclass scenery. by watson & brown. sorry, no link.
also like cccoast2.zip by alan wheeler for central california coast.
I use fs2002, but maybe they have done similar for 2004

Check out the SRTM mesh available for free here at SimV... it's pretty good, and they have the entire world mapped.

Ben don't argue! And DO post in the correct forum in future or else it will be the marmalade for you young man!
Actually on the mesh front the SRTM is excellent, I use it for the whole world (a weekend well wasted
) and think it is brilliant.
Other than that it is off to scenery downloads

Agree with the recommendation of the SRTM, with the exception of the areas that Holger Sandmannn has published.
In particular enhanced mesh upgrades for NW US, B.C CA, and SE Alaska. Just do a search for 'holger sandmann'.
Dont miss his Columbia River Gorge Project, FS2004 Scenery, page 45, page 52 for update, and the AI package on page 45.

Sorry Mark... but I'll be doing it again when the next time comes round!
But relax, that won't be for ages.
OK all - thanks for all the tips. I'll carry on downloading all the files of the STRM and the Sandmann ones.
