Would anyone be intrested in setting up a team to creat a totally new add-on (freeware) for CFS2 to add some more life into the sim??

Heres what i'm thinking,

Since the WW1 era has been pretty much ignored by developers apart from the AER group and MR. S. Green and Bortdafarm (sorry for spelling if its wrong). Also since CFS3 is having its own WW1 expansion done for it, then why not CFS2??

I'm not sure how many people here would be intrested in doing this as most of you are engaged in other projects, real life or just dont know how to build stuff, but i think it should be done.

What we would need if this was to go ahead is some plane builders (Gmax or FSDS), people to build some airfields with authentic buildings, someone who knows how to use Ground2k so that the trenches could be put in..i've tried with FSSC and well..it leaves alot to be desired and lastly some people who can write missions.

I know it would be alot of work to take on but at the moment its all talk because i dont know if anyone else wants to do it.

Well what do you say??

I'm afraid I don't have the skills to contribute much -- unless there's some tedious scutwork to be done. But I'd be very interested in seeing something like this. Actually, looking at those wip europe textures made me want to get to grips with the mision builder to come up with some kind of WWI campaign. So, good luck.

BTW, there are some bits and pieces here that might get you started

im kinda good in graphics. I wouldnt paint the most beautiful plane but it would look good. i edit weapons (NOT boxes or boxmaps) too. i could also help with the testing as i am a sort of perfectionist (until i get fed up with it and call it good Wink )

What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....&&&&&&&&&&                        The GMax effect... The GMax effect

I have neither the time nor the expertise to develop add-ons, but I would give a certain (very important) part of my anatomy if a WWI campaign was available. It's kind of like the hot cars I was around when growing up; I had no idea how to work on them, but I was a very good driver.

They're FSDS models.

The first one is a Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter, single seater, of the French Air Service.  Actually, the French were the largest users and builders of the 1-1/2 Strutter.

The second is a Nieuport 4, of the Russian Imperial Air Service.

Depending on how detailed you want the models, I like them oldies...

looks like i was a bit wrong on the 2nd one  Tongue

As for detail, the exteriour dosn't have to be ultra detailed, as long as it looks good and real then its fine. As for the VC i love em and want them all to be up to date but thats just me. As long as it looks good and real then i dont mind at all Smiley

Thoroughly enjoy the WW1 add-ons!

I bought a 'Just Flight' produced CFS2 add-on called "Combat Aces" that is great fun with a few missions, airfields and winter/summer seasons. It's probably out of production now.

I am really looking forward to seeing what you put together.

Good luck.
