We had given up hope seeing only empty skies above. Time passed what felt like eons. Those that made it home safely had an air of sadness about them knowing friends might have perished for the course of war...something everyone knew all too well but it had been a while. Though once home there were some injuries being tended by the hospital, non were overly serious. This day would mean only one bomber crew loss for the squadron.

...

but then faint in the distance...choking as if engines were giving their all...could it be?

We looked to the skies...

...        ...                                   ...

saw nothing but the sound grew louder as if engines were giving a desperate cry...

scanning the skies...

There she was running on two engines and what sounded like one of those two was about to give up the ghost.

...

She was in rough shape but the fearless crew were bringing her in working her with all they had...two engines out, one failing, the other more than likely about to go as well. Hydraulics out, no gear...

...

The crew able to keep her level by the graces of something we had faith in...our airplanes

...

Smooth as they could make it, she landed upon her belly with screeching metal

...

and at last she came to rest. Bruised...battered and long overdue. This beautiful lady gave herself for the lives of the men who she protected.

...

but happily there were only minor injuries to the valiant crew that would be mended meaning celebrations would be in order and the drinks would be flowing tonight.

Until the next mission.

The end.

Hope you enjoyed

Stephen

Savas,

The use of the first two shots with the story line are GREAT!  Looks like a story board for the movie.
