At altitude bombbay doors open dropping their payload over the target, surely to cause the Germans to respond without trepidation...



Back at base, all but one B-17 has returned. The others said the missing bomber was hit hard by German fighters and fell back unable to keep her altitude or speed. All feared she was lost at the hands of those we attacked. Hazy blue skies were all we saw...
