i've never checked out new zealand in the sim and after seeing a few of dave's nz posts i thought it's about time i give it a try Smiley.

so i went down to kaikoura which is apparently great for checking out whales. didn't catch any sealife but i sure did enjoy the flight and landscape Cheesy

kaikoura has a nice little airport from which tourists are taken out for whale-seeing Wink
...

takeoff into the sunrise
...

within minutes the sun is out and i can enjoy the view
...

while descending, i hoped a whale would pop up and say hi but no luck Roll Eyes
...

finished my very short sightseeing tour and ready to hit the bar. what beer do the drink in new zealand? Tongue
...

btw, dave i downloaded the alaska strip you suggested and i was really looking forward to using it but it turned out to be incompatible with fsgenesis and/or ultimate terrain Sad. ah well, i'll enjoy all the rest of his work Smiley

thanks for looking

Did you set the vertex level to 19?  It has to be there in order for it to work!

Where's that scenery from?

Yurei,

If you want to "spice up" New Zealand, go to the ARNZ (Aircraft Repaints of New Zealand) website.  They have lots of scenery upgrades... not to mention the best BAe -146-200 out there.

best,

yup, vertex level was still at 19 from the cascades strips. the scenery is kaikoura.zip + nzkiafcad.zip for the airport and nzsrtm1.zip and nzsrtm2.zip for the mesh at avsim.
