Ive seen quite alot of airshows with bits going into the crowd....

He ejected so low that the chute didn't have time to squid* so he was fine, I heard in a documentary however that if he'd been 1/50 of a second either way of when he ejected he'd be dead. Any latter and his chute wouldn;t have opened at all and any earlyer and his chut would have collapsed before reinflating.


Thats what it looks like when the chute deploys, colapses then fully inflates and is common in many round canopy's.
