Thats right folks I did the unthinkable and overclocked a intel P4 WITH a prescott core to 3.67Ghz. before my core temps were around 30~49C (thanks to a new heatsink and thermal paste), so I figured Ide open up the BIOS and mess with some settings. Now its at 3.67Ghz running between 45~55C with an alarm at 65C to let me know its getting too hot. Yes you all said it couldnt be done, but I had a little gunnerman in me so I decided to O/C a Prescott.......oh and if your wondering according to my last psych eval I have lost my mind Grin

I agree with B-29.... after a short discussion with my God, who, incidently, doesn't believe in you at all ctjoyce! She says you are just another wannabe, but the overclock you did got her so excited, she asked me out to celebrate....... I think she fancies me!    Grin

We never said it was impossible.  Congrats though. BTW, I'm assuming you are using water cooling or better. I don't think air can cool a prescott that much. The included intel stock air cooler can't even cool the CPU at stock speeds some times.

I can overclock my 3.73 P4 Extreme Edition to 4.5 ghz, but only with vapochill.

And you haven't lost your mind...yet. BTW, what is the stock speed and model number of your CPU?

He is useing a heatsink? I guess a water block could be called that and is that. Anyway we have a 3 Ghz Pressy here and it idles around 42 C with stock cooling(assuming the mobo sencor is accurate).

Is it the one recommeded you?

If it is, I knew it was good, just not THAT good. Hmm, maybe I should overclock my P4 3.73 EE on air.

I can easily overclock my Northwood p4 2.6 to 3.2 and thats with the stock retail intel fan!

Prescotts do run hotter though, so, that score looks impressive indeed.
