Hey all,
I need a pretty quick response to this...

What is PCI EXPRESS? Will the 6600GT PCI EXPRESS work on my normal PCI SLOTS?

Cheers.
Echo.

PCI-Express is the new bus for graphics cards and is twice the speed of AGPx8, thus making it x16.  Smiley

They WILL NOT work in normal PCI slots - they won't even fit so don't try.  Grin

Currently there are no big steps in PCI-Express and it works at a similar speed to AGPx8 - mainly due to poor support.  Smiley

Yes, you'll need a new motherboard to use PCI-express. It's basically a brand new interface that will replace AGP.

Read an overview here if you want to learn all about it:

No, PCI express is NOT backwards compabatible with PCI.

A 6600 gt is available in AGP though.
