Nearly nothing better than a belly full of fuel... except beer, of course!
...

Rats! A nearby jet has lost comms, and I have to go check it out!
...

Nothing too serious! Escorting WestJet Flight 191 down to the nearby airport...
...

With that done, time to head home!
...

Ahh, a great night.  Now for a pint!

I think that's an issue because of your monitor.  I used to think the same thing but then when I got my laptop I could actually see these dark images.  I thinik many of these shots are created on the new flat panel monitors which tend to be a LOT brighter in nature and therefore the person posting them does not realize how dark they really are.  On my PC, I use a CRT monitor and images in general appear dark when compared to flat panel displays.  I'm using my laptop now and can see these screen shots perfectly where as on my PC, they look 90% black.

I think you nailed it. I use a ViewSonic 19" flat panel LCD and I can see the planes in his shots just fine

It also my be a case of ambient light in your room.
The more there is, the less likely you'll be able to see anything in the shots.

Welcome back J to the R-O-C.
