I'm new and have a question about editing with cfs2. How can you have preexisting damage to the ground and buildings in a mission? Can you have planes that have been destroyed on the ground? I would like to have say an island with all kinds of damage on it as the pilot flies onto the scene. Thanks

I know you can set the damage on a stock  infrastructure plane the same way you do any other piece of infrastructure.  However, you may have to set the damage to 100% or very close to it to really see any difference.  The problem is that the planes don't look all that great. But - they are definitely damaged!

I don't know if it will work for addons or not.  Probably some and not others.

By using the preset damage fuction in the mission builder as Cody coyotte states, plus altering the contatc points in the aircraft.cfg file, and altering the static position of the aircraft or object in the .mis file, you can get a pretty realistic effect.
I used it in my Milne bay campaign to show a crashed LB30 (B-24) along Gurney field strip. Try it !

Jeffchele you can also add smoke and bomb craters to your missions if you want. Just look into the infrastructure, it should all be there.

Just look in my post on how to build missions with the mission builder. In there are you have several Websites and post with the work of others who have been kind enough to teach us on how to build missions.

One is from Cody himself. I highly recommend you read that post. The more you learn on how to build missions the more you will enjoy this program.

I also recommend you read books on world war two as well. Not of any theater per say but of the whole war in general. Let your imagination do the rest.

Cody is nice to hear from you!
