Hi guys,
Just got a new laptop - Sony VAIO PCG K86P
P 4 - 3.2Ghz
1 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9200 gfx card (guessing its mobility) with 64MB RAM
Still have to post some shots for you guys
Grin but first I need to sort out a little problem. I find that when flying in MSFS, if I press alt or hit "alt + tab" to change music or something, when I come back to the sim, I've lost my anti-aliasing and everything's jagged. If I press alt again (or alt tab) my anti-aliasing comes back (sometimes I have to try a few times). I'm guessing its a driver issue as I'm using the drivers that came with the laptop but if anyone can point me in the right direction:
Which drivers I should get? (best for the 9200? are there specific ones for the mobility range?)
And also if anyone knows a precise step-by-step guide to installing the drivers, that's be good. Ive had a lot of bad experiences with the blue screen of death with my old PC and the only thing that saved me was XP
    Wink.

Any help much appreciated,
Thanks,
Adam

(EDIT): Also, I forgot to ask. Is it normal for only horizontal parts to be anti-aliased with the vertical sides left jagged.  I know on my Ge force the whole thing was just smoooooth. Thanks again.

It's just one of those things that can happen when switching between screens I believe, I never heard anyone talk about a fix.

I really just wanted to say not to expect too much of that 9200, it's not a very good spec. That's the problem with notebook PC's, they really haven't made any genuine effort at putting decent graphics in them.

Thanks very much for the help congo. Is a shame they haven't put so much time into laptops but this one is working a treat at the moment (I can actually fly the PMDG 737's from the VC  Grin ). Shame about the anti-aliasing but I can live with it (just have to mess around with the settings or press alt less  Grin)
Thanks again,
Adam.

I personally would'nt use FSAA with the video chipset you have, its not really up to it.

I know what you mean. I've tried with and without AA and the difference is amazing. With AA on 3x I can get steady fps locked at 21 (and unlocked it jumps around from 16 to 44). Without AA I can get more than 50 fps. The good thing is it's a widescreen so that the graphics should look ok without AA, it won't matter to much (I hope)  Roll Eyes.
