...Which is good, as the FS2002 model doesn't work for some and this one does work...

...The bad news is, it's an FS98 airplane so it's a bit lacking in detail and it's on someone's Geocities account so the server is probably going to crash and burn if too many people try it... Tongue

Here it is (right click, save as) http://www.geocities.com/usvac/blkbrd1.zip

Have you looked at the one from WSP? It says it's for 2004, but I haven't tried it.

I have the David Bushel model and it works just great in 2004. I'v done a lot of personelizing to the panel (Trying to make it into a civ. model for my self.) It gets you where you want REALLY FAST. 1800-2000 Mph. Must use Auto Pilot at that speed. I also found a gauge caller Fuel!Fuel!. It's a red button you push once you get it on your panel, and it refuels you on the go in increatements. So now it's long range if I want. Grin

It's a shame there's no freeware module to simulate in-flight refueling.  It would be excellent to be able to link up to a KC-10 or whatever right after take-off with a Blackbird just as the real ones had to for any long missions.  I think there was a payware fighter that simulated in-flight refueling but I can't remember which one. Might be the Lago F-16. By far though Xplane has the best SR-71.  I guess because the flight modeling in Xplane can better handle extreme flight envelopes.  Also because the sky and earth look as it should at FL 800 or 900.  Sky black above and the curve of the Earth very noticeable.  In MS sims FL800 doesn't look a whole lot different than FL 360 and the sky color is no different either and we know it would be. Due to the trustworthness of Xplanes flight modeling I can tell you that with a shallow dive from FL 800 to FL 600 and full throttle and hard climb out from that it is possible to get the Blackbird as high as FL 1250.  No engines at that point, no control response, and good luck on re-entry.  Also, Xplane's Blade Element Theory flight dynamic application also accuratly predicts performance based on engine, power, drag coefficient, etc.  I've seen Mach 3.4 level flight and that also happens to be the top of the mach meter. Theoretically, the real Blackbirds ram jets should produce more than the government's published performance based simply on how ram jets function.  Of course, it would also be limited by the airflow past the cones once they are fully retracted as well.  Trust me. If the USAF published mach 3 you can bet that's very conservative.  It's real limits have yet to be de-classified.  Case in point, Nimitz Class carriers are rated for 35kts.  I've seen significantly more out of them in 6 years of cruiser duty playing screen and lifegaurd for the carriers. So, we can conclude that the US Gov doesn't publish the full capabilities of their best hardware.

Thanks for the WSP link, it seems like the best one to me.
