Hi,
My Hd at the moment is very well nackered. Dunno why!
But im looking for cost efficiant replacement. The probelm is. when i start the pc after i have just installed the HD, what do i do, do i install the HD drivers or anything? or does it automatically load and then i can proceed to the Xp intsallation screen?
I often use ebuyer for my purchases, so any reccomendations would be fab!

Jimbo, USUALLY (which means it won't apply in this case lol) the only thing you've got to do is set everything up as if you were reformatting your HD. Should be pretty straight forward.
Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&

Typically as long as you have an operating CD now, you're golden..
Be warned though that some systems don't ship with a full operating system...
I'm lucky I bought my windows CD from the school..
$30 later and I'm running Windows XP and office 2003..

Yes if the new HDD is not SATA install, pop the windows disk n and off you go. Make sure you have a real Wi XP Cd because a Hp or Dell Restore disk WILL NOT WORK. Another tp: On the HDD there are jumpers if you have only one hard drive there should be no cause to mess with the jumpers but if you have a second or 3rd or... hard drive you will need to set the HDD to Master or Slave depending on what you want.
