I'm not as an active poster as most members are, maybe that's why I haven't noticed this?
Where I am getting to is that I frequent another forum and in almost every page you visit there is some sort of flame war going on. Yeah, the mods take care of it, but that still doesn't make it better for the people that read it again.
I come here and I've posted here and there in the last 2 weeks and someone who took my post in a different way didn't go off cussing me out or nothing. He simply told me, and the way I read it was so respectful I replied in the same way and it was solved then and there.
So, how do you guys do it? Seriously, is it because most members are adults? I seem to remember a couple of teenagers like a year ago, unless you've done some cleaning up.
So congratulations on the way you have the forums on track and haven't had to resolve to drastic rules except for some rotten members, which every forum has. By far this is one of the cleanest forum I've seen.
But hey, like I said at the beginning, it may be because I don't frequent all the sections....
Ignorance is bliss?
Naa I think it's like that all over the forum. Way to go!

I know the feeling. IT gets boring after a while, so some of the mods have to start flame wars and heap abuse on some people - but then we fear OMAG's revenge (second only to getting marmaladed)

Obviously you caught the person on an off day.

Threats of Teletubbioes and Barney marathons usually work. Then there's always Hungarian fermented marmalade.

Actually, I think the forum is primarily teenagers (a lot of older teenagers-for example I only have another month of being a "teenager," I turn 20 next month) so I don't think its that. It seems like the majority of the forum is teenagers.
I'm not sure how they have pulled it off, I know that we have a great group of people here but you would think that there would be problems sometimes (other than the very rare issues we have). So, I too am very impressed with it.

I think its because this forum tends to attract more "mature" people than most game forums. Lets face it you don't need a brain to play Doom!
So you tend to get more educated and therefore civilised people here. Yes the occassional twit shows up, but they tend not to last long (especially once the mods get their teeth into them, we all being vampires except me I'm a werehampster)

Hey, I hadn't thought of that-thats a good point. These kind of games, especally the FS series (as in non CFS) requires a lot of patience and skills (CFS does too but I found it a lot easier than the FS games-maybe thats just me though), you have to be smart and mature enough to take the time to learn everything. So, that could be a big part of it.

The thing is flying anything realistic requires skill and patience to learn, so that is why I have that theory Richie, and so far it seems to hold true.
Maybe I'm not quite as daft as I look eh?

Well to me it seems pretty even between teens and adults, probably more adults.
Like Theis stated, he and I are 14, but I think we are the youngest here. And we have are members who are getting...err....''up there''...
It's a great forum with not much flaming. I think this forum defenitly attracts the aviation enthusiests for the most part, obviously, and the aviation enthusiests seem to be some of the most level headed people out there.
I love it here, great jobs mods!

I keep seeing the words, "Sensible, Mature,....", etc, with reference to Simviation Members.
..Now I have studied Fozzers Forum Dictionary in great detail, and those sort of words just don't appear in there...

Remember - Lethal.Ambition has been desensitized by extreme exposure to other forums, so what iin SimV passes for "mature" behaviour, in other forums is so mild as to defy comparison.
The fact is that SimV members of seasoned experience can still whup the dzus fasteners off these tuna-fish can loving young whippersnappers that have no taste (except for the enlightened few who recognize that a decent plane has (at least) two wings, propellers, fixed gear and open cockpits)
cogito, ergo vomito.
