anyone remembers that movie? the ghost thing with nicole kidman. well when that film came out, i really enjoyed it and i just loved the setting. i used to have a thing for creepy old mansions (have visited a fair share here in england) so i jumped at the opportunity to see the house for real. my sister lives in the area (north of spain) and told me one of her friends knows where that building is. well it turned out to be further away than i thought and i just couldn't find that damn place, so i was kinda driving around blindly through the mountains Roll Eyes. i did eventually find it though so here are a few pics. oh and if you are wondering why i'm boring you with this random pics of a building, well i wanted to post something in this forum too for a change Wink

this view was used in the opening sequence of the film
...

a bit further down the side
...

is there...someone at the window? Shocked Grin
...

this is the actual front of the property, which never got shown in the movie
...

hope you liked them Smiley

ps: if you were wondering if i was walking around in the garden i'll have to say no, i just zoomed in. they had some scary killer dogs running around which didn't exactly say welcome Wink

Nice photos Yurei. I haven't seen the film but like these old buildings with character.

Hey man, thanks for sharing!  I seriously get a kick out of visiting places featured in films or on TV.  It's almost like seeing a celebrity.  I don't know, I just enjoy visiting such places and seeing where it sits in relation to the areas tou don't actually see in the film...like the entire setting.

For example, last year on one of my many visits to San Diego, my friends and I decided to check out the "Top Gun House".  You guys have see Top Gun right?  Well remember the little house the chick lived in?  We found it and took some pictures.  Here's one my friend took:

...

I took a shot that showed the house from a similar angle as it's shown in the movie, but my camera got stolen the day after I returned home when my house got broken into.  Never transfered my vacation photos to my computer...

Anyway, sorry...don't mean to hijack your thread here.  The Others is absolutely one of my all-time favorite movies.  VERY clever...It really throws you for a loop, especially if you are watching it without any idea what it's about...haha.  When I saw it in the theatre, I had no idea what I was seeing...never saw a preview or anything.  SO yeah I was like wtf? for most of the movie, and then I went, WHOAAA..............

Interesting how neglected the building looks....I also enjoy visiting location shoots!  For a while I was thinking about trying to put together a list, but I gave up when I wasn't finding much other than the locations I'd been to myself!  (And they keep cancelling shows on me.)

Great edit, Bob.&&&&&&Google it. &&&&www.google.com

Well I don't know what's up with the pic...First, I thought it was because I forgot to check the file size and it was over 100K.  I reduced the size, but can't seem to fit it back in my post...

Maybe it's because the entire thread exceeds 500k?

Lets try one more time...

...

Nope...

I saw the image when you first posted it. Doesn't seem to be there now. If you're sure it's within the forum limit try uploading it again.

Very intesting Yurei... Smiley
I like the shots.

Has anyone ever seen the movie 'Meet the Applegates'? It was filmed three blocks from where I used to live in Neenah Wisconsin. I was only one, but my parents said we went by it while they were filming. The re painted the house and everything for the movie. And after they were done, a normal family lived in it again. Smiley
