Well we arrived at the El Conquistador and went straight to the pool!!

The Main Pool.
...

Gotta love the "Swim Up Bar"!  Grin
...

Tropical Plants.
...

As you can see, the Resort is on a cliff which overlooks the Sea. On clear days you can see St. Thomas and many of the other Caribbean Islands!
...

Here is the view off the back of our balcony. It overlooks the golf course and tennis courts. If you look off in the distance, you can see El Yunque! This is Puerto Rico's very own Rain forest. It's mountain climbs skyward where the clouds constantly supply moisture to this natural wonder. I wish we had more time to stay as Barbara & I would have loved to take a day trip to the forest!
...

Time for some Caribbean food and drinks!  Grin

Nice hotel, but not the kind of place I'd spend my holidays in.

Ahem - the attire is appropriate for the location.  that isn't Hawaii, the Keys, nor sourthern California.

Aye. And I normally enjoy my holidays much more that way.
But I can understand why Dave chose such a way to spend his holidays. We're all getting old...

Nice hotel, but not the kind of place I'd spend my holidays in.

Hiya Bjon! We just wanted to get away for a while with nothing to do except sleep, drink and be merry. Yes, sometimes all the "tourists" is a bit much, but then again, that would be me!  Grin
I have done the hiking thing in The Grand Canyon, Skiing in Lake Tahoe, Scuba Diving in Belize, made our own little "Amsterdam" while Camping for an entire week in upstate NY with my buddies with nothing to do except watch the falling leaves, sit in my fold up chair and drink beer till we all fell over. We did that every single October for 10 years and I do miss it!  Smiley   I have been Mountain Biking at Hunter Mountain, looked out over the Cliffs of Moher and climbed he castles of Ireland, Snowmobiled the old rail trails in Canada, taken my boat to Lake George in upstate New York and lived on an Island with a few friends for a week, white water rafted down the Delaware river and got lost in Yellowstone Park.
Would you spend any of your Holidays like that?  Wink
Like I said, do it now before you have kids. It is not so easy to do the things I described above once they are born. When they get older, yes, I will resort to them again, but for now, A simple 4 days on a Tropical Island is just what the doctor ordered!  8)

Oh yeah, I have also been to I have been to St. Thomas, Turks & Caicos, Hawaii, Jamaica, Bermuda, The Bahamas & The Cayman Islands. Went there throughout my 20's & early 30's. Now I am lucky if I can enjoy a cold beer in my backyard without having one of my little girls wanting something!  Tongue  Grin

Old is a state of mind! Like I said before,

"If you did not know what Day You were Born....

Do You know how old You would be......? "

Awesome pics!  When I went to Puerto Rico I was in 2nd grade (1991-2ish or something), and we took an American Airlines DC10 of all things.  The weather was horrible on approach and I couldn't see anything until we actually touched down.  The service was crappy, and I don't know how those pilots were above their minimums for approach but we landed in San Juan after a 4 1/2 hour flight and I was happy.  We stayed at El San Juan Towers and I did what any young boy would do all week-- watch airplanes and stare at boobies alllll day long.  Hope you had a nice flight and vacation and great pics!
