Just in case I'm boring you here's something a little different. I find my trusty old F401 comes in very handy for close-ups & static shots. This has the advantage of saving memory on the the other one. Here's a few of the more interesting ones.
How it looked when I first arrived. No fences here.
A smart Gazelle specially for Craig.
Shot of the residents parking area. What a delightful spot.
I rather like this shot. Shame I missed the start up.
One of the nicest Tigers I've ever seen - & I've seen a few in my time.
Unusual shot of the Yak 52.
Ken Adams with the beautiful Chipmunk he built himself. He's an ex-Halton Apprentice who later became a pilot. He flew the B-29 Washington & Lincoln when he was in the RAF.
You never know quite who you will bump into at these events. The chap on the left has been my hero for as long as I can remember. Sqdn/Ldr Neville Duke with his good lady wife & a member of the ground team kindly posed for me. Possibly the most famous British test pilot of all time & for about 3 weeks back in 1954 the fastest man in the world. 84 years young & still going strong. One of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. A true officer & gentleman. Long may he continue.
This is the Piper Warrior he flies today.

Thanks Mark (& B-29). Not too surprising as he lives not far away & I believe he keeps his aircraft at Bournemouth. He is also connected with the PFA (chairman?) & often attends these events. I finally met him 2 years ago at the Great Vintage Flying Weekend at Kemble. He reminded me that it's at Hullavington this year.

I'm getting the strange desire to rebuild this airfield in FS. With tons of AI traffic....so much AI traffic that even Dave's ultra-PC will be brought to its knees...

Not sure what you mean by
those
toilets but there are toilets opposite the clubhouse.
I think it would make a nice little airfield in FS9

Thanks. You're quite right & he's just how I always imagined him to be. In his case I wasn't disappointed when I finally met my hero.

I don't really wish to have a discussion on toilets. It's a permanent building, clean & perfectly adequate for its purposes. I can't say I noticed a bath in there.

I've not seen it from the air. Some aerial photos here.

These might help Bjorn if he's serious about doing it for FS9.

Still thinking about it. One the one hand,it'd be a nice addition, but I'd hae to do the whole field from scratch, say modeling the buildings and the sourroundings (via landclass). Organizing AI traffic is the least problem...
