Why do most panel designers place the elevator pitch trim control on the panel somewhere when that is a totally unrealistic location.  Most real planes have the elevator pitch wheel somewhere on the center console.  Also, why do so many designers opt for the humdrum default avionics when there are a number of good freeware radios and gps' for download?
