Well? Come on out of the wood-work! I think this has to be one of the best games around - ID really have done themselves proud! I really enjoy this as a game.
BTW, it seems to be a love hate - some people hate it because 'its too far fetched'. Lame excuse!  8)  Wink
Any others then? Just me... Ok  Grin

I hated Doom 3 with a vengence!

I now realise what a complete Donkey I've been, I am currently enjoying splatting Zombie gut-slime! - I love it!!!

Moral of this Rant?

Nvidia is indeed "The way its ment to be played" but, not if you were silly enough to buy a Geforce FX like I was.

My 6800 has changed my views on most of my games collection.  8)

I bought my FX5600 to play the ,then new, Combat Flight Simulator 3 about 2 years back...
Finally!  after yet another Graphics card upgrade, the sim runs like it was supposed to in the first place! Roll Eyes

Doom 3 is great, but, only if you have the 3D card to match it.  Wink

I love it only for its engine. I'm gonna mod that thing to hell...LOL.

But as for Doom 3 as a game, its sucks. I should be in hell for wasting my time in playing it.

The first couple hours, awesome. The next couple and I'm like its ok. Last hours and it was repeatious and just crap.

It has no replay value. Multiplayer, what a joke.

Now that I've got Win XP installed, (Doom 3 will not run on '98...  Cry...  ), I , may consider getting it....(£35... Roll Eyes...)...!

only if there is a cheat out there for giving me Invincibility, Infinite Weapons, Infinite Time, Infinite Cadbury's Whole Nut Bars, etc, etc... 8)...!

Paul.

I could never see the sense in paying mega-bucks for a game with 255 levels when I could NEVER, EVER get past level flippin' one.... Cry...!

In fact, I can make one for you if you like. I am in the process of modding doom 3 as we speak...err, write.

Doom 3 has built-in cheats as well. Just open the console and type them in.

I loved Doom 3.... Took me over 2 months too fully get through it. Normally Played 15 mins at a time until I got past the first series of levels..... After the labs, Well then it was 1 to 6+ Hours playing non stop. It was probably the best game I have played in a long time (apart from FS9) I loved every last dead Demon! Cheers, Gunny

I could have got the limited edition version which features the complete original Doom and Doom II, but I really didn't think it would be as enjoyable as it was way back when, especially on the Xbox, as a matter of fact I believe I may still have the original PC versions of Doom or Doom II somewhere in my stash of ancient PC games.

Could have been the DOS version, I can't say for sure, I do still have a PC that has DOS and Windows 95, just in case I ever want to play any of those old games, one of my all time favorites is the original X-COM.

I've been playing Doom 3 on the Xbox for a little while today and I have to say the graphics are some of the most impressive I have seen on any console, it is safe to say they look nearly as good as PC graphics, if only I had a HDTV!

I was at the game store today and couldn't help looking in the Doom 3 guide just to see how far I was along into the game, there have been a couple of times I have thought I was almost at the end but then I keep going, so after a look in the book it appears I am just over halfway through the game, which is good news because I am enjoying this game so much I was hoping it wasn't going to end so soon.

Same here, I usually prefer a third person view, but I am 100% addicted to this game, my friends are all crying because they thought God of War was going to be the greatest game of the year, then they all beat it in 9 hours, boo hoo, I told them Doom 3 kicks ass, but then they all decided the new Splinter Cell was "the" game to be playing, and now they are all crying because they beat that one in 9 hours, boo hoo again, I tell them again to start playing Doom 3 but so far I am the only one that I know who is playing Doom 3 and I have plenty more than 9 hours into it, I'm the only one of my little group of gamer friends who is happy right now, I keep telling them to play Doom, but no one is listening so screw 'em.

Hmm.

If your friends want a long game with good gameplay and story, then get HL2.

There is no reason for you to get doom 3 over hl2 unless all you care about is gfx (like me, so I got both...)
