FSGlobal sure is great. it can be used in addtion to ultimate terrain, think they are pretty much compatible. on it's own, FSGlobal is still just a mesh though. ultimate terrain is a complete makeover  Wink

OK, that sort of answers my question... I like the free SRTM mesh I've got, but I  still have some beefs- mostly with rivers with gaps in them or going up over mountains, that sort of thing. I'd probably pay for a fix for that...
Tried the "NY Lakes and Rivers" DL and was surprised to find that the stock FS terrain in most cases more closely matched maps and charts in terms of river and lake boundaries than did this "improvement", which added a few missing mountain lakes, but also added stuff like a strip of earth across the Hudson at the NY/NJ border... ??? oh rotty, i think ultimate terrain could be just the right thing for you when it comes out for the US. the addon also flattens roads and rivers going over mountainous terrain, so you won't see them hanging sideways on the hill anymore Smiley

That are some nice looking shots !!

Can someone tell me what ultimate terrain includes.
As far as i can see the mesh itself, coastlines, landclasses
roads, rivers. Is this correct ?

Did someone allready test it in conjunction with FSGlobal ?
I want to order FSGlobal the next time. I´m unshure if both will together cause i think i would prever ultimate terrain if they do not work.

Thanks

The main  things  it includes are:
1)Roads with flattening of major roads.
2)Rivers/lakes and all shorelines.
3)Enhanced land class  basically  in some major cities only.
4)Raillroads including rail yards in major cities.
5) spectaculare night lighting.

It does not contain any mesh.

It definitely adds to the flight simming experience, though there are a few bugs still that I have noticed.

I do get a bit of a disappearing lighting phenomenon as the lights appear then disappear. Not sure if thats my settings in addons or not, but still the lighting is what makes it worth it to me.
