Come to think of it, I haven't seen an ad at the top in a long time. Must be Mozilla.
As for your problem, until Pete decides to change it, you're stuck with it.

I believe Premium Mambership (which I have) gets rid of all the ads.  I don;t remember seeing any ads in a long while.  And it also supports SimV.  (hint  Wink )

I have only seen it on the main page.  Come to think of it, it has been a long time since I saw an ad on the forum.  But, I have seen it a lot on the main site pages.

& you must also acknowledge that this is one reason I struggle to pay for this. Low ad performance could cause the end of SimV.

Here is the way I see it...

Pop ups and ads are no bother to me. None at all. Pop unders do annoy me. I am aware FireFox kills many pop ups, that's why I always try to click on an ad and simply close it when the page is fully loaded.

Clicking it does not sign you up for anything, but it does give the website some money.

Hey Pete, you know what I've seen a lot of websites doing recently? When I go to their downloads or forums the page, instead of showing where I want to go, says something along these lines:

Thanks for visiting our website so and so section. Unfortunately, in order to keep running our free service we need your help. Please click on one of the ads below and maybe even buy one of their products.

and there are like 2 ad banners there. On the bottom of the page it says: To continue to so and so section click here.

Hey a popular website that does this is Gamespot!
